hey guys, im looking for some help or maybe some links to a write up.I need to remove the inner drivers side front plastic wheel well, at least i think thats what its called, i have a dent on my fender (not cracked) and one of my freinds said if i could get the wheel well off i could try pulling it out or using a rubber mallet to knock it out, i went and attempted today, and i am so lost! any info i can get would be greatly appreciated, ive tried searching and looking through the forums but i cant seem to find anything:banghead:

:salute:

Just take off the 1/4 panel and beat it with a BFH while it's off the truck (I've had to do it to get the doors to close correctly when they go back on in the fall). There are several things attached to the inside of the fenders in the engine compartment. Disconnecting all of these would be a PITA.

To take off the 1/4 panel: Unscrew the screws inside the wheel well that hold the plastic to the 1/4 panel. Then there are 1 or 2 bolts at the back bottom of the wheel well. There is a bolt or two that you get to by opening the door. Take off the headlight, there are a few bolts behind that to take out. Then unbolt the 2 or 3 bolts holding it on under the hood. It only takes 5-10 min to take off or put back on. I think all the bolts are 8mm, but I might be wrong, 10mm maybe??

Good luck, it isn't that hard to take off. I used a rubber mallet to beat mine once it was off. I had to hit it much harder then I thought I would. I'm sure all my neighbors thought I was crazy, taking a hammer to my truck, lol.

:hammer:

You can't access the inside of the fender by simply taking off the plastic wheel well piece?
