I know alot of people are adding an overhead console to their car, but I had the idea of removing mine, and putting up a Shelf-it organizer. I plan on putting a metal pice on the front to mount evrything to. I am a firefighter and I have switches for evry dohickey there is. Plus I plan on adding more switches and moving my air consditioning conrolls to there and putting my scanner where they are now. So I was wondeirng if anyone knew how to remove the overhad console so I can see how it is wired and I also need to know where the compass and temp gauge is for outside. By the way I also have a moon roof with the switch on the overhead console if you need to know that.

To remove yours, just get your fingers between the headliner and the console up close to the winshield and pull straight down. The metal snaps in the front will let go. Now in the rear of the console, there is a plastic lip that slides up into your sunroof trim. Just pull the console toward the front of the vehicle a bit to pull the lip out.

The compass is integrated into the console itself but the temp sensor isn't. The temp sensor is mounted in the fron of the vehicle. If you open the little lid that covers your driver's side headlight, and look down the left side of the hole, you will see a round, cylindrical object looking back up at you. The sensor is mounted with a little plastic fastener to the sheet metal behind the grill.

Hope this helps.
