OK, I got my arm rest out of the center console to replace the busted plastic mounting bracket, but how do you get the bracket out of the arm rest? I tryed to pry it out of there but it seems to be very secure. I don't really want to break the arm rest frame and have to get another arm rest. Any suggestions??

I had the same problem, easiest way was to get a pair of bolt cutters and just slice it in half, comes out easy then. Make sure you grease the new one, other wise install is a *****.

If we're referring to the pin that goes through there, the recommended manner is using a Dremel tool with a cutting blade. Then use a large C clamp to push it. They sell the metal replacements on ebay and they work well.

I tried the bolt cutter method, but there was too much in trying to get through it. Whipped out the 4 inch angle grinder and it fit there perfectly without damaging anything else. Not even 2 seconds and that sucker was then sawed in half and I plucked it out.

Those new brackets with the metal brace inside are the bomb. You immediatley feel a difference in how rigid your armrest is after.

Well I did what you guys said and, oh yes, its nice having a arm rest back especially one that doesn't bend with my arm on it :D
