well i have the 4x4 ranger air dam on my explorer. I had painted it myself it wasn't the paintable one from ford but most of the paint has held up really well..what i did was
1.cleaned it
2. paint adhesion promotor
3. primed it
4. painted
5. clear coated
click my sig to see pics of it
but anyways
the paint around the lights is being to chip. everywhere eles is fine though. and its not just because of the lights because its outside of the fog hole....

maybe i neglected these areas when i painted?
any advice to get that damn paint to stick

I'm pretty sure what you need to get the paint to stick would be a flex agent. You would use this on flexible plastic parts like bumper covers and airdams. You should beable to get this at any automotive paint supply store. Just tell them what you are trying to do and what your problem is and they should be able to give ya some helpful tips.
