so i just replaced the ebrake shoes, put everything back together and it doesnt work... i left a little gap between the drum and the pads and everything moves freely. i went into a hill and put it in N then applyed the ebrake and 0 resistance. i went down the driveway and put it r with the ebrake on and drove it reverse slowely, i think it may have tightened it, but then i knowted white smoke coming out of my exhast and stopped (thats in a nother thread)..

Great aye?

should i just take off the drum and give it some less room between the drum and the pad??

You need to adjust those until they are just barely touching, not with a gap.
In other words, the wheels turn freely but you can hear a faint sound of contact.

Perfect. You access the star wheel through the backing plate. Remove the little rubber (it could be metal) cover. (mine also has inspection holes on the sides to check the shoes that you can use to see how close you are) You can use a brake adjusting tool or a flat head screwdriver to adjust. Just make sure you know what direction you need to turn it. Spin the wheel as you turn the star wheel. Once you hear the shoes LIGHTLY drag, go to the other wheel and do the same. Then set the parking brake a few times, and recheck the adjustment. Setting the brake recenters everything. If you are unsure, take it to a tech who can do this for you. You don't want to burn up a new set of shoes due to improper adjustment.
