I agree with replacing the whole arm rather than fighting with the ball joint replacement. Plus, those rubber bushings in the control arm mounts don’t last forever anyway they’ll need replacement at some point regardless. I have not replaced my fourth generation upper arms yet but it was fairly simple on the third generation. Those had a mounting flange where as the fourth GEN you actually unbolt the bolts that go through the control arm bushing’s
 






I installed Moogs long time ago and they are holding up pretty well.
Much better than Autozone some brand that lasted few months.....
 






Can't comment on your actual question but I will say it wasn't hard to do by myself. I kept the adjustment thiing'ies in the same position. I bought mine from RockAuto, for whatever that's worth.
 






Motorcraft. The rest are Chinese garbage.
