replacing back windshield wiper

Ok, so i might be an idiot, but is anyone else having a problem taking off the back windshield wiper to replace the wiper? I have changed dozens of wipers before and this one is completely stumping me. I would prefer not to rip off the arm in anger so any help would be appreciated I have a 96 XLT btw. Thanks.

You're not crazy. I tried to get the arm off Snowball and was pulling, tugging, prying, swearing, and finally gave up before I broke something. I want to sand and repaint mine!

its a notched pin that it is attached to. if i recall.. you have to pry a piece away form the pin and slide it off upwards.. i had a problem finding a replacement that fit. I got a junk one and had to carve out the thing to fit it back on then it proceeded to tear off my explorer4x4.com sticker.. about 2 weeks after i put it on!
