Has anyone ever replaced the rear side windows and hatch glass to tint it? If so, how much did it cost and about how long did the process take? Thanks in advance.

I didn't replace the side windows on the Sport but I just had tint applied to them at a Ziebart place for $60. They were able to almost exactly match the darker OEM tinted quarter panel windows. Not to get off the subject but with a small curtain behind and across the back of the front seats, no light gets into the back to illuminate the interior so no one can see in. I used a bungy cord across the rear handholds and a dollars worth (1 Yd) of black cloth and some thread. What I'm trying to find out now is if Ford makes a darker tinted driver's and passenger's window or if anyone else does. I heard you can get Lexan but it's all special order only and costs a fortune.

I want the back windows and hatch to be black like my drivers side and little tear drop window.

The Tail gate glass will be easy. The Side Glass is a diferent story. It is held on by the inside Sheet metal so that means you have to take out the Back panels to get the glass out. I though about replaceing the Trim around the Side glass but you cant do that with out Replaceing the Glass and my Glass has my vin# etched in it so it would be a pain to replace and have the Glass etched not to mention the Cost is about $500 for each peice of glass and the tail gate glass cost about $700.00 if you have rear defrost.

I definitly did not think it would cost that much but, it looks worth it. What happens if someone breaks in to my truck through those windows will insurance replace both sides to match the two together?

My insurance Deducable is $50.00 per Peice of Glass. Plus the insurance company will try to go the Cheapest route. If the Glass that you have in there now gets broken they will will replace it with Equal or lower value.

I do not Suggest breaking the Glass out of your car this can Raise your Insurance costing you more in the long run.
