do i have to disassemble the front hubs to replace the front lug bolts? the previous owner liked to use an impact driver to tighten the lug bolts on my 91 explorer and now the nuts go on real stiffly or would it be cheaper to change the rotor. i think something is missing because when i take the wheel off i can turn the bearing nut real easy. and while i am at it i need to change the sparkplugs on the passenger side through the wheel well. the explorer has manual hubs, i think. when i turn the activator out on the end of the axle it doesn't seem to do anything.

If you have a tap and die set, I would first try to cleanup the threads before replacing any. I do that on mine when they start to not go on smooth. I do the studs and the nuts. Standard 1/2” x 20 threads.
