Just wondering what I am getting myself into. This is on my Moms 93 BTW, not the one in my sig. I have to replace that rubber bushing that apparently gets heated up and killed by the heat from the cat. I notice there is a bracket that is attached to the frame that "houses" the bushing. It appears to have rivits and bolts. Will undoing the bolts allow the bracket to swing out of the way (with the rivits intact) enough to clear the radial arm, and thus replace the bushing? Otherwise I see quite a nasty project in front of me that will include taking the spring out...etc. A local mechanic quoted me $170 to do the job. Im tempted to just let him do it if its a real headache to do.

TIA,

its not that bad. get the haynes manual and just follow the instructions, and be prepared to spend a day under her, so get beer:D

:chug: :chug:

$170 seems like a good price to me.

You can do it yourself but $170 for both sides is good. You don't have to remove the springs and all that, but that is most likely how a shop would do it. (do a search here for the drilling rivets method vs. other method) but for $170 you might consider letting the shop do it.
