Hey i need to replace my oil pan gasket...Chilton says i have to remove the engine completely there has to be a different way........




also i broke the head off the drivers side shock stud on the radius are any ideas there?:thumbdwn:
 






yes you can but it is just as hard you have to take the hood off and unbolt the motor mounts and then lift the motor from the top so you can get the pan past the bearing caps and the cross member
 












For the busted shock mount you can just cut it off and grind it flush to the radius arm bushing. You can then center punch it and drill a hole for a "universal shock bolt kit" Autozone and Advance Auto parts both have em in their "help" section. It is P# 31001. There is a good thread on here with pictures on how someone fixed their busted shock mount this way. Just do a search and I'm sure you will find it.
