Replacing power antenna with a whip antenna?

I have done searches on the forum but I haven't found anything yet. What would it take to replace my broken power antenna with a black whip antenna? I think it would look better and it would be more durable. Are there any antennas that would fit in without any modification? I can fabricate something if I have to.
