What do I need harness-wise to go from a premium sound system mach 460 6-disc changer on a 2002 to an aftermarket radio? I've tried to find info but so far google only turns up the mustang.

crutchfield.com

should have what you are looking for.

get the numbers for the harness and then check amazon.com for a better price.

like Lizard said, Crutchfield is a good choice, but most large online distributors will have you select your vehicle and they will give you the proper harness to convert into the new head unit...Incredibly easy to do.

I went with the Pioneer AVH-P2300DVD and have been pleased with it.

Good Luck

you might look at:
Metra Electronics 70-5700 Turbowire Wire Harness and 71-5700 should be both sides, you should have black connectors on the radio side which is called 'World Connectors'

is there anything special I need to retain stock amps? or is that just the mustang version of the mach that has RCA plugs and needs backwiring to the amp somewhere? I.E. would I just wire up the 70-5700 harness to the new radio, plug it in, and it would all work?

with the 2002 radio the Speaker amp is in the radio.

Do you have a Sub Woofer? It has its own amp, pre-amp imputs. But i never hooked it up to an aftermarket radio, just the other way around.

Should be all set with 70-5700.

Not sure? Where do I find the subwoofer at?

EDIT: nevermind, I should've looked it up online and I would've realized it goes in the rear quarter panel.
