I'm going start on them this evening. One thing I realized while I was doing my tool inspection to make sure I had all the proper tools. The rear half shaft nut: It's larger than any socket I currently have. I forgot to take a measurement for a socket last night I'm am wondering of anybody would recall off hand what size it is so I can swing by sears on the way home and pick up the correct socket.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Last time I did axle work like that I went to Canadian Tire (Auto parts stor here) and for a $100 deposit, they let me use a set of CV Axle nut sockets. I got my money back when I brought them back. Maybe try that at a parts store near you.

Good Idea. Cause to tell ya the truth, I'd have no use for a socket that large ever again. The only reason why I even have a 1-1/4" is because I replaced the wheel bearings on my mitsubishi.

I think it's a 36 mm. I used an impact wrench and they came right off. I used a 6 pt 36 mm socket and it was an impact socket.

Socket

Yep 36mm - mine sitting on jacks as I type this. There is a guy on ebay selling hub and bearing assemblies for $39.00 free shipping - I was sceptical but quality looks good!

Who cares anyway - I am selling this piece of crap! 3rd set of wheel bearings in rear - two sets front - both rear springs broke - 3rd tranny.
