Replacing stock speakers

I am looking to upgrade my 4 speakers. Is it better to go with a round speaker or would the 6x8 produce just as nice of a sound? Also do you think i should run an amp to these speakers or go with a 10" sub? I've been in this dilemna for monthes lol. Any suggestions wuld be appreciated. Thanks.

If as in round speaker you mean components(driver and seperate tweeter) then yes they would be better but also more expensive, if you mean just a round coaxials, I don't think there is a diiference. An amp would definitely improve the sound to them. And you would also need an amp for a sub(unless you got a 5 channel amp, 4channel for the speakers and 1 for the sub) it depends on what you like bass or nice highs to decide what to choose first if not purchasing both at once.
