This is my first post, so if its in the wrong area, my apologies.

I just bought a new set of Cruise control switches for my 97 Sport, as my others peeled and disintegrated. ( all the markings came off and the material started to crumble) My question is, is this an easy DIY if I got a Haynes manual, or should I take this to the dealer?

Also, the night lights on the switches went out awhile ago. Is that part of the unit itself or should I check a fuse electrical etc?

Welcome.

Yes it's a very easy job and Yes the switches have bulbs which don't seem to last that long. There are some DIY instructions somewhere on the board which you should be able to find doing a search on 'cruise control switches'. It's been a while since I did it but I seem to remember that the instructions in the Haynes manual are similar to the write-up on the forum. Either way, it's a good idea to pick up a Haynes manual. Between that and this site you'll save yourself a lot of money (so you can spend it upgrading and modding your X  ).
