Hello,

I am doing some painting on my frame and may replace some or all of the parking brake cables. This is in part because I will be taking them off of the frame and don't have allot of confidence that I won't brake one of them. I also don't like putting old rusty parts back on if I can help it. The parts are also less than $75 shipped if I do all of them.

I was not able to find a video or write up on how to do this.

The pats list at RockAuto lists front, center, rear right, and rear left cables.

RAYBESTOS BC96021 Front Parking Brake Cable ($23.89)
RAYBESTOS BC97261 Center Parking Brake Cable ($6.99)
RAYBESTOS BC96020 Rear Right Parking Brake Cable ($14.84)
RAYBESTOS BC96022 Rear Left Parking Brake Cable ($15.65)

The ACDelco Professional/Gold brand is also available from for a bit more but I have never had an issue with Rebestos. Only one of the cables is available from Motorcraft. I don't use Dorman unless there is no other option though I expect Dorman would be fine for a parking brake cable that rarely gets used.

Do I really need all of these, meaning do all of them apply to every model?

Does anyone have the repair manual write up for this, or a diagram?

It looks like it would be pretty easy if I leave the front cable since I assume this is the one that attaches to the brake pedal.
