Ok so seriously i must not be using the search tool right because all I'm finding when i search "valve cover gasket" or anything along those lines, all I get is lower and uper intake and head gasket replacement.

I know there HAS to be a write-up on here...and I'm not finding it =(. Because Valve cover gaskets are common PITA spots on Explorers.

Can ANYONE lead me to the thread? Or poosibly help me in this thread???

Thanks a bunch!

replacing the valve cover gaskets is way too easy to need a write up. You simply take out the bolts on the valve covers...I think there is 6 on each, then you take the valve cover off, scrap off the old gasket, put the new one on, an bolt the valve cover back on. takes me about ten minutes

yeah thats what i figured but i just wanted to make sure before i ripped up the engine for the first time. what would you recommend for good gaskets? n also are there any warnings that i should see when i pull them off, like are the lifters bad? or something like that?

thanks again for you help =]

If i were in there, id replace the lifters / rocker arms, but a complete set of lifters is like 500 bucks. Delta Cam sells a kit for the rockers and pushrods.

You can't do the lifters by just taking off only the valve covers. You can get to the rocker arm assembly and the pushrods that way.

Thanks I forgot to add that

haha i was talkin to my buddy about it because the valve? tick is driving me nuts. It's not loud until i get low on oil, but you can slightly hear it. I'm just gonna leave it alone for now until it gets worse.
