Replacment 9004 headlight doesn't fit

Is it me but the replacement 9004 I bought doesn't fit. Its actually the second one. The first one was not manufactured right but it didn't fit either.

When you look at the base of the bulb where the plastic starts its a little taller.

I've tried and tried to get to go in. Its not. This is not rocket sience, the old ones on both side come and go just fine.

Has anyone experienced this before.

Yeah, my '91 was the same way. Stock type Sylvania bulbs worked fine, but Silver Stars have a little taller plastic and it would bottom out. One of my headlight housings had some plastic left over from the molding that was stoping it (if you stuck your finger in the socket for the bulb you could feel a lip). I took a dremel to the notch in the new headlight and made them work. You could also grind the extra plastic off the inside of the housing for a better fix, but its hard to get to.

Seems to me the 95 & up use 9007 NOT 9004.

That could definitely be his problem, I don't know about 95+...just know that 91-94 use 9004.

It won't fit becasue your 95 uses 9007 bulb and not 9004. Take it back and get a 9007 and it will slip right in. Better yet, get 9007 Silver Stars!
