Resealing oil pan on 99 Ranger

Is it possible to pull the pan without having to lift the engine to replace the pan seal? The truck is a 1999 Ranger with a 3.0L with automatic.

I know that there must be someone out there that has tried this. I forgot to mention that the truck is 2wd.
