For some reason my alarm won't reprogram right. I had the battery unhooked for a couple days. Now when I try to reprogram the fob's(the turn the ignition on and off 5X) it will work for about an hour or so and then it doesn't work again. Also, the alarm(horn) doesn't beep intermittently like it used to. It just gives one long honk. Does anyone know what I need to do? Is there a way to reset the alarm? It is a 96 XLT. Please help!

If you find out how to correct, let me know. I disconnected my battery and now the alarm doesn't work. The key fobs were reprogrammed so I can lock and unlock but the alarm does not work. Also I have to press the alarm override button to start the car.

Anyone out here can help us????

Maybe I can help you a little. I have had Ford alarms on every Ford I have ever bought and just when I think I have seen it all, I get something new. If you did the battery reset thing and it didn't work, then you have a bad module in it. I do not know how many modules these have, maybe just the 1, or it could be the more options you have, the more modules, like remote start, trunk lid opener, and stuff. But I have seen this very same thing with mine and Ford had to replace the module under warranty and it fixed the problem. Nothing I could do solved it in any way. Hope that helps.
