I have a 2005 Explorer and everytime I take my explorer for a oil change the dealership forgets to reset my change oil light. They never gave me a service manual and calling the dealership they tell me that they don't know how to reset it off hand. The dealership is too far to keep driving there so they can reset it for me.

can anyone please tell me how to reset this? thanks soooo much in advance.

It is done through the info center (message center). Just a matter of pressing the buttons. I believe you hit the set up button, and when it comes to oil change, press and hold reset. I usually play with it a couple of times before I figure out the exact method, just play with it, you'll get it!

actually its fairly similar to the way GM does it... ur computer will notice that the oil has been changed and it will reset itself... btw if i was u i wouldnt use the crappy oil put it at many places... i would get mobil 1 extended performance... its rated for 15000 miles and runs much better since its synthetic... just throwing it out there

your right. i found it in the message center. Can't believe i didn't see that option before. thank you both! I will have to give mobile 1 a try also.

not a problem
