I had the same thing. DITCH IT!! You will notice improved sound, and some performance. Some back pressure is good, but most vehicle are designed with too much! The resonator was mostly there for the soccer mom that it was originally made for. I dropped mine and noticed no ill effects! Good luck.

now what about just losing the tail pipe all together an just do a turn down after muffler?

You know as well as I do that you have to have the exhaust be stock and in the stock exit location here in MA. wink, wink
I would loose the silencer but have the pipe exit after the wheels somewhere if you want to continue breathing when stuck in our traffic, plus to a sticker.

Remember loud pipes save lives

sounds good ill have lous custom make me a corvette style center bumper quad tip an lose the silencer

Why not run a 2 outlet flowmaster and run twice pipes? I'm not sure about your front setup but on mine I ran a 2 in 2 out 2 1/4 flowmaster and ran my pipes right out the back either side of rear springs plenty of room. I've seen a bunch of Lou's work howz the prices?

cost 80 bucks to weld in my muffler an add some piping and fix a leak. should of had the res cut out then but oh well it has a good tone but it can be some much better

right now as it sits, I have factory cats up front, and thunderbolt high flow for the 2 rears. They run into medium length glass packs. They both exit out the corners.. sounds frickin cool. But as of right now, I have TMH's going on, instead of the stock 1.6 stamp rockers int there, I have 1.7 full rollers going in, Magnaflow high flow cats up front and the thunderbolts in rear, then they will go into a Flow master Delta 50 3" in 2.25 dual out to the corners again! I bet it will sound FRICKIN" AWESOME!! Can't F-ING wait!!!

Hey BerkleyFF did you get the pm back

ya i just seen it. sorry new to the site i didnt know where to look. do you have any bull bars or anything along that

before you dump the exhaust, read this:

I was planning on a F/M 50 series, removing rear cats and resonator and dumping it after the muffler, then I read this thread ^^^^^.
don't exactly know what I am going to do with it now, but I saw an ex I think on cardomain and it had dual rectangle tips exiting where the OEM hitch is. Obviously the hitch had been removed. It has to be one of the cleanest street exs I have seen. Ill look around again and try to find it.
