Reverse lights

my recient tooling around got me thinking, how would i wire a switch up to my reverse lights so that i could turn them on when i want to (ie some one is tailgating) and so they would still work in automaticly in reverse.

tap a reverse light wire and run a switched power wire to it.

wouldnt those tailgating taxi's have a scare "HOLY S**T" CREEEECH "????THE HELL!"
