Air in clutch Lines?

1994 Ranger, Air in Hydro line? clutch, trany, slave, all new. forward gears are fine?, but does seem to 'move' slightly when starting in gear with clutch engaged. Hard to hit 5th gear at lower speeds Only way to get reverse is to start it in reverse... Sat for some months? Can the "master' be bled? Rear Drive.

peace, Ron

1994 ford Ranger, Manual 5-speed, Sat for a long time disassembled, Tranny out. The consesus seems to be air in the master, After multiple 'bleeds', it seems slightly better, but clutch is still not fully dissengaging. Moves at startup, either forward or rearverse, just a little. I'm starting in gear to be able to drive. Is there a Bleed for the master? Thanks, Ron

When you bleed those clutches you need to detatch the MC from the firewall so you can rotate it slightly. That is the only way to get the all the air out of the MC. You could also have a bad slave cylinder, if you already had the tranny out, replace the slave and the clutch.

yeah on the driver side of the tranny there is a bleeder for the slave cylinder, but again be warned that if you got air in the line you will need to disconnect the master from the firewall to get thte air out.
