This problem just started about a week ago. While at highway speeds above 60mph, I could hear what sounded like a roaring/growling noise coming from my right front area. I knew my tires were bad, the belt was starting to show on the inside of the tire (alignment is out), so I replaced them yesterday with four new ones.

I thought that would solve the issue, but upon driving away from the tire shop, I started feeling a rhythmic vibration, more of a thud, on the floor board and even the gas pedal around 30 mph. The roaring noise is now louder when I get above 60mph and my steering begins to feel a bit loose.

I'm thinking this is indicative of a bad wheel bearing, but the truck being AWD, I'm not sure what other factors can be involved. I don't get any clicking or other factors associated with a cv being bad. Also, the front driveshaft was removed from the vehicle before I purchased it, so that may have something to do with things as well.

I'm just looking for some help in pointing me in a direction. I'm planning on replacing all of the factory shocks at the end of the month and then getting an alignment done as well, I'd really like to knock everything out at the same time.

Little update. Went and bought some new front sway bar bushings and finally got rid of that God-Awful squeaking sound anytime I go over a decent sized bump! Also took the new tires I bought back to discount tire and had them re-balance them, they were slightly out of balance, but the vibration is still there. I'm fairly certain the vibrations I feel are coming from the new, cheap tires. I'm going to give them a few more days to see if they smooth out, then I'll have them replace them.

I've still got that growling noise however at highway speeds. It doesn't really sound like a bearing howl, that is more of a consistent pitch at one speed, this noise kind of fluctuates at a set speed. Not sure what could be the cause of that?

What type of tread? H/T, A/T or M/t's? Some aggressive A/T's like Mickey T's can make a bit of noise on certain types of tarmac, & M/T's well they are noisy.
I just washed my X 2 days ago with Armour All Wash & the front end has started squeaking all the time, going over speed bumps is REAL loud. I've tried spraying Lanolin spray over everything rubber or poly & it seems to work till I get a couple of hundred yards or so down the road then.......... :australia
