DOing a timing chain on my 2004 with 4.6
I removed all the valve cover bolts and pushed aside hoses and wires and pulled it out. Not hard.
I set it aside without looking at it.
Went to put it back in a realized i have broken off the last few inches.
That was stupid.
So, off to the Pick'n pull. I find a few 4.6 explorers but three of them have just the right valve cover missing. That seemed odd.
Finally found a good one but was getting late so i called the used parts place, they had one-
I went there and waited for them to remove it from the car.
"ooops, sorry, he broke it"
So, i'm thinking thinking this is a common blunder. - be careful
