2003 ford explorer
hey all,
i own a 2003 ford explorer. just replaced both front wheel bearing assemblies, as well as right upper ball joint, kida expensive. front end aligned also. have noticed `excessive road noise`` way louder than before work was perfomed. noise starts at about 40mph then tapers off at 50mph or so. just bought new tires so i dont think thats the problem. no vibration, shaking, just loud. anybody think they know what might be wrong

It could be your new tires. I know my AT's make less noise now than they did when I bought them miles ago.

If tires were the only factor changed, I would say it's them. Some tires are very loud on the road.

thanx for your input just got back from mechanics he thinks that the front differential bearings on the left need to be replaced, as the noise goes away when the wheel is turned to the right is this differential work expensive, im not sure i could do this myself
