does anybody have rock sliders for their explorer? i just think that one of these days i will most definately bash the rocker panels on something, plus wouldnt rock sliders provide a jack point for a high lift?

Bluethunder,

There are a number of rocksilder designs out there, some commercially made, some custom. (I happen to have custom built ones, but I've seen some pretty slick commercial ones).

I suggest you use the search feature that is one of the small grey buttons at the upper right of the thread screen. There are quite a few past posts and even pics of various ones.

thanks!!

I have a set of custom rock sliders/ step bars on my 97. They can be used to pick up the truck with a hi lift jack.
They weren't cheap though, about $600.00, but when you can't weld yourself, you gotta pay the cash. They have saved my rocker panels many times. If your gonna play in the rocks, it's a worth while investment. They bolt on to the frame in 4 places.

hey Ray can you post some pics of yours
thanks SEAL

I am going to be building some for my Explorer hopefully before moab. I have been researching designs for a while.

Here are a few links I have found over the months:

http://kevinsjeepparts.alloffroad.com/ -I will probably make mine like these

http://custom4x4.jeepin.com/nerfs.htm -also considering the double tube type from this site

Jeff,
I'll see if I can take some and post them this weekend.

I would be interested in the double tube style sliders, if someone were to make more than he needed. ;)
