Beginner System (old)

Well i just located some pictures of my old system (3 10in Kicker CVR's/ Sealed box/ renegade mono amp)....yes i know the box is long and my seat was down lol. This was originally my buddies box for his silverado but he wrecked it so i got to borrow these until my 15's came in. The amp is so far quite impressive! It is owned by Fosgate and so far its ratings (1000watt mono) is not quite the most accurate but after speaking with some audioheads they advised me that wired correctly i should be pushing close to 800watts out of it (not sure of the ohm load though). No electrical upgrades and nothing is being stressed thus far. just not enough juice to hurt anything yet...kenwood deck is great as well..was not dissapointed with this simple setup :)

I have never owned 15's before and i am afraid my back window is going to just fall off...anyone know if i turned them upwards, would it enhance the sound and not destroy the back (as much)? Or what is better...facing the back or upwards.

Thoughts please :) thank you!

Doors are powered now (JBL GTO8628) getting 100W a piece, sub is now a Alpine Type R (SWR 12D2) getting 1500W. Sub box is now ported tuned @ 27Hz (1.9 CF). I am still working on cleaning up the amps/wiring. I cant decide if I should leave them there or not. I am running dual power wires, one Eight gauge and one 4 gauge.

nothing too great, just took my two type R 12"s out and sat em in the closet and threw in a PPI pc.154. thing gets nasty and is insanely underrated. It's getting *1500w* rms right now. Not sure what the Mb Quart ONX1.1500D actually benches at but i hear they're pretty close. The box is roughly 4cuft, 3/4 mdf with a 1.5" top plate. tuned at 32hz. Got the sub on a closeout special at a local retailer who quit carrying PPI's products.

I used to have the original Ford factory JBL Premium system in my Explorer but I wanted better sound. So after searching this forum and gathering ideas, I finally decided to build my own stealth sub box. This project took a while but it was worth it (to me) in the end to preserve some much needed cargo space.

I have a JVC 730BT head unit (the bluetooth is great) and the subwoofer is an 8" Rockford Fosgate P1 powered by an older MTX Thunder mono amp.

I used a jigsaw and some plywood to make speaker adapter plates for the door speakers so that I could install something other than 5X7's. I put 6.5" MB Quarts in the front and 5.25" Pioneers in the rear and powered them with a 4 channel Kenwood amp.

The system sounds good. It won't blow anyone away or rattle the roof but it meets my needs perfectly. Now I just need to tidy up the wiring a bit and make a custom grill cover to protect the sub.
