I have 2 f these amps. One of them worked fine and the other well it ran up untill the day after warrenty expired and that when it blew both 30A fuse on the amp and if i put new fuses in it hey blow to can anyonne help me it a P5002

don't wrry i've had RF amps and subs actully my entire system is RF. 3 12" RF competition subs and 3 well now 4 amps one dont work but the amps are all P5002 tuned the same and they are pretty good system. befroe i had a sony explode 12" literlly exploded lol ran by a RF 600 Watt amp with a 250 rms lol sh*tty sony lol. I've also had many other RF amps/subs but have sold or ave to close friends. but i dont think you should wrry because RF usually run exllent.

If the P5002 is built like the 401SP that I have, then you pry now have a nice paperweight.

Getting the 401SP I have fixed would be costly. Some of the pieces I toasted inside the amp are located on a board that is glued to the chassis. Repair would mean replacing the whole board. In the past, one could easily replace individual pieces. My local amp repair guru took a look at it, and shook his head. It is repairable, but is it worth the cost when I could buy something else...?

There are several places that can fix Rockford amps, and it MAY not be too expensive.

i forgot to metion hen both fuses blew a quick puff of smoke smoke out of the amp

Sounds like the power supply roached. It could be some of the capacitors. You may be better off replacing over repairing, but contact a good repair shop and see.

is there a way i can check to see if my power suppily is done in i have a volt meter and how can i tell if its the caps and if it was the power suppily would that blow the fuse intantly. like i dont even turn it on i connect the negative termanial and bam both fuses gone

Open it up and post some close up shots. I can recognize quite a few problems that way, and can identify many components.

Man, I see nothing in those pics to indicate a problem. I was hoping it would be fairly easy, but troubleshooting that one could be pretty time-consuming even for a good tech.

see i sent it to the local shop and they had it and just said send it back to rockford and buy a ne amp because buddy is like i dont kno whats wrong with it. and is anyone on here some what good at finding and solving the problem or even finding it
