Did a search but didn't find what I was looking for. This is in my sister's 97 sport with the power driver's seat. The problem is that when the rear of the seat is raised from its lowest position it has slack in it that causes the seat to rock. When I sit in it I put the rear of the seat all the way down and the problem goes away, this isn't an option for my sister as she's only 5 feet tall an has to raise the seat to be comfortable. I tightened all the bolts anyways but that didn't help. Anyone have a similar problem and find a way to solve it? If not anyone got a power seat track?

i don't know if this will help but did you raise the front of the seat also?

It doesn't matter if the front of the seat is lowered or raised. Tried putting the seat in as many positions as I could to see if it would go away but, anytime the rear of the seat is raised off its lowest position it makes the seat rock.

seat rocking

O.K. Had the same problem as you in my 99. Here was my fix. Remove the side plastic panel that houses the power seat switch. Raise the seat to its highest position. Notice how the seat mechanism works almost as a pair of scissors to raise and lower the seat. Now take a hammer and hit where the aluminum bars are connected by a rivet. The idea is to bend the mechanism inward towards the center of the seat. It will require some force, and I moved mine in about a half inch. This took out the slack in the mechanism, and stopped the rocking and squeeks that went with it.
Of course the mechanism in my 99 may be different from yours, but this fix has lasted over a year for me so far and the God-awful squeeking and rocking is GONE!!!!
