Has anyone been able to squeeze 2 of these on top of a sport? Side by side... I'm putting cloths in them so it shouldn't be too awfully heavy, just want extra room in the vehicle for other crap. They say 14inches wide and the roof rack measures 29 and change so I think there's enough room....

I think the owner of the advert meant 14" height and 22" width coz if it was taller than wider then it would really look disproportionate on the picture.

However, I did see someone running 2 boxes on the roofrack. There was a slight overhang on each end but I think he moved the u-bolt brackets inward (not exactly the best but still feasible - specially on a temporary basis). A single bigger box is advisable if you want to carry more

As for running a fairly light or empty roof box - most boxe manufacturer actually suggest loading the box with about 50lbs in it. Running the box empty at speeds in excess of 30mph isn't advisable. With the box about 6 inches away from the roof, airflow would have a tendency to lift the box from underneath and ripping out the bolt mounting.
