Roof Racks

Hey guys, I just bought myself a 2018 Explorer XLT. I am going on vacation next week and just realized that the roof rack is not capable of securing my luggage carrier. The rack appears to be plastic and there is no way I could secure a rachet strap to it. Can someone recommend a cheap roof rack, or could tell me what year explorer racks are interchangeable? I have searched online and I have found many different results regarding interchangeable part years. Has anyone ran into this problem and how did you resolve it? I just got rooked for $200.00 for after car mats because I could not find ones that would fit and help protect the carpet from my wife's heels.

There are several threads on the roof racks but I don't believe anyone has ever changed the roof rails. Have you checked that the eyebolts that screw into the rails won't serve your purpose? Also, the weight limit is 100 lbs without a moonroof and 45 lbs with a moonroof. Husky and WeatherTech make great floor liners which are a digital fit meaning they are made specifically for the Explorer.
