2001 Explorer Sport - How would I navigate to a schematic of the rear hatch latch for repair purposes? Thanks

Welcome to this forum! Are you referring to the lift rod assembly?

Thanks for the quick reply - I am referring to the opening latch which allows the back deck to unlock & lift. The key/window lock is still operating, but the cable attached to the hand latch snapped and I want to figure out how to get to it.

I'm hoping there's a schematic somewhere because my feeble mind handles pictures well!

Take off the interior panel. I'm sure that it will be easy to see where it disconnected.

Great advice - does the plastic interior shell just pop out?

There are some screws, and plastic clips holding it in place. You should get a panel removal tool. The end is shaped like a "V", and the arm is slightly bent.
