97 Ranger
Hello,
I am about to organize myself for a front rotor job on my 97 ranger.
The rotors are 70k miles, they need to be replaced as well as the pads
My question is:
What parts should I get to do that job?
I am thinking: rotors, wheel bearings
what else should I plan on getting.
As always, thanks for the great advice.

thks, I also assume I have to press the new wheel bearings in the rotor

Depends on who the rotors are from. I bought a pair of EBC slotted/dimpled and they had new bearing races already pressing in. You will need new wheel bearing seals too.

The rotors I am looking at do not have the races pressed in.
By the way, there is only one set of bearing per wheel, correct?

Assuming your truck is a 4 wheel drive:

Bearings are "SET 37", two required per side.
Use the races that come with the bearings, even if the rotors have races in them.
Replace the wheel seal.
Replace the caliper slide rails.
Might want to replace the calipers.
Bleed the brakes (use a quart of brake fluid, do all 4 wheels twice)

thanks,
I took a look yesterday and I have a few more questions:
I have manual hubs for the 4wd and there seems to be a seal between the hub lock assembly and the outer surface of the rotor.
This seal was so damaged that it is hard to describe (and it is on the floor, broken in three pieces). Anybody knows what I am talking about, what would be the part's name?
Also, when I look for the bearings, I always see inner ones and outer ones, are they different?
Thanks

There is an "O" ring in/on the back of the hub that should be replaced regularly. You can new ones from the dealer or Warn. Not sure if any auto parts places have them.

Inner and outer wheel bearings are the same.
