My hitch is the round tube type. It hides well and looks alot better than the square ones.

my is round. I think it dresses up the truck a little more than the square ones do. just my .02

I use the round tube. I think the square one looks stupid. This is just my opinion. The round one is mostly hidden and looks good on the back.

I have the round tube hidden hitch also. I think they look better and thats about it. They are exactlly the same.
I feel underpowered, Im the only one to reply without a V8.:(

Get the round hitch. That's what I have and it's sweet looking compared to the old square ones.

I have the round-tube hidden hitch too - looks and performs great!

Ry (with a V8). :)

Round one here also. Just as strong as the rest. Got it the day after I bought the x (first mod). I have towed boats, buddies trucks to car shows, and even towed a 79 K5 Blazer on 33's 1100miles at 70 miles an hour the entire way. Still holding strong.

another vote for round hitch.

Round Draw Tite - looks better than the square ones!

I have kind of a round tube-hybrid hidden hitch. The round tube design is real similar to the draw-tite/U-haul kind of hidden hitches... but it comes down a bit lower and goes across the back... it is not the round bent type that contours under and then out. It's made by putnam and I love the finish on it. Here is another nice one

Dead Link Removed

I know a few people that have the curt one's and they love them... not to mention powdercoated color matching, for nothing more than a U-haul hitch.

well i'll go hide in my corner with square tube hitch! :D
i like it better for functionality as it saved my bumper a few times. looks.. its a hitch. although now with the body lift.. the hidden round one would be less obvious now. my square one hangs down low. i'm making a new one though. if its free, its for me!

I could not find a square one beside the FORD one, when I bought mine... I wanted a square one; exactly for that reason... saving the bumper. It seems like every manufacturer only makes this 'pretty contoured round tube hitch, to blend with that unique SUV design' type crap.:)

mine is made by valley industries. it actually is curved a bit and basically follows the line of the bumper. its not just a straight piece of metal stock. i got it through advance auto (they ordered it for me) for like $85. its a class 4.

I got my round HiddenHitch from etrailer.com for 99bucks. Cheapest I could find. It looks great and comes with all necessary hardware.

I use the round one for getting unstuck (saving the bumper). It works just as good as the square ones for that.

I have the round tube (Hidden Hitch ) one. I would recommend the round tube. In my opinion nothing looks as bad as a hot looking Explorer with a ugly (an usally rusted) square hitch. Fuctionally both are fine.

Got a round one, Hidden Hitch w/2" receiver...in NY we use them as compact stoppers. :)

Mines been hit 4 times...I got my third Rhino bar step thingy in it.

It hasn't budged yet, solid as a rock.

Oh, and I got pulled out of the sand in Florida with it one time too.

OH, the shame!

It's funny that you say the statement about "Compact Stoppers". I had a guy rear end my 95 X with a Ford Escort at about 25 mph. The only damage I had was he broke the Trailer Hitch cover and scratched the hitch's paint. The Escort was contoured to the shape of the hitch. And the funny thing was when the cops came he told the cops that I backed up into him.
