How are you dealing with routine maintenance during the pandemic? I'm very hesitant to allow total strangers inside my car during this time. I take it in once a year for oil and rotations etc but I only drive about 4000 a year so I'm sure everything is still up to snuff. I just don't want to jeopardize my warranty.
Thanks

Low risk of transmission (no pun). I wouldn't worry. ADAM'S polishes has a microban product, fyi if you want to wipe down. Let it sit in the sun for an hour or two after its done. Will kill anything if hot enough

Do it all myself and I don't worry about the warranty on my 2016.

If I was you I would just take it into the shop that does the work for you. Most garages have a policy in place if any of their workers are feeling under the weather where I doubt that you would come into contact with much. But if you worry about it now how about in a normal year when even if a person is sick they show up to work?

I'd call the dealer/shop and ask how they are handling customer's vehicle that are brought in for maintenance. With mine, pickup and delivery is included and the driver covers the seat in plastic and wipes down everything in the driver's area in both vehicles. I can only guess they may do the same with a drop-off.

I've always done my own routine maintenance on my vehicles, so this is not a problem for me.

Besides the convenience of my just doing it on my own schedule (and not being without the car for a day while it sits at the dealership), one of the main reasons I do it myself is to get under the car once in a while and look around, to make sure everything looks OK. This is how I noticed some water pump seepage going on, even though I only had 12K miles on her at that time, and that discovery led to the engine being partially disassembled by the dealer, while they replaced a failing water pump.

I do know that when I've gotten my tires replaced and/or rotated at our local America's Tire Co. store, they now have you drive your own car onto the rack, and back out when they're done. They never get in your car, nor do you have to get out. Works for me!

I have taken mine in for a few things. When I get the vehicle back I take a Clorox wipe to basically everything you can reach from the driver seat. It probably isn't the best for the leather, but I condition those every 3 months anyway.

I have taken both my 2017 Fords to my local dealer in the past week and had the annual oil change package performed with no issues. When they brought the cars out to me the had plastic on the seats and they wiped down any part that they could ha touched including door handles, steering wheel and shifter. I was very satisfied.
Thanks for your comments.

As far as your warranty, it is illegal for them to void a warranty due to you having used a 3rd party to perform service, even if you DIY. Just be sure to document it including dates and receipts.
