Just wondering if anyone is using royal purple motor oil. If you do is it worth the money ?

isn't royal purple a Prince CD ?

j/k

I know a guy who uses RP in his race boat motor.
Super costly stuff. I would just go with Moble 1 if you want my opinion.

I don't use the Motor Oil but do use their ATF.
Seems to do fine. The parts store I buy the ATF sells allot of RP motor oil.
I use Royal Purple as Mobil 1 doesn't make a Mercon V ATF.

Gud Chit ,if you can buy it right

BORN AGAIN:)

Its good stuff, my roommate uses it in his 2000 Sierra 5.3 liter. I was sold when the dealership put Pennzoil in without telling him and there was a ton of valvetrain noise on startup. We switched it back to Royal Purple and the noise was gone. I don't want to spend the money on it myself, but its only a dollar more then Mobil 1. $6 a quart. If you're going to go synthetic, think about it. Good stuff...

Syns are most likely all about the same, to a point,RP being the most expensive than others, which in no way makes it any better perhaps.
Have been using RP 5-30 in my engine,RP ATF in my auto tranny and Max gear RP in my diff since 5K miles, have had 0 drivetrain issues pushing 25K.
Mercon v is most likely good stuff, has been a rash of recalls on 04s to put in an additive tho.
has been lots of people that have had major problems with the 5R55E, just maybe using RP syn, the lifespan of that tranny will be better, maybe so, maybe not, cannot prove anything, it will be a long term experiment I hope.

I was thinking I'd switch both differentials to RP Max Gear and my transfer case fluid to RP's ATF. Anything bad about doing this??

Lubricants are lubricants, but some may be better than others,RP has a great tech staff, call um

Good Stuff

I run it in my 93 EX ENG,TRANNY,and DIFF at 154K I have 0 problems. I keep it in the rocks and mud and have had no problems. I also run it in a 83 mercedes 240D and a 93' s-10 with 170K It is by far the best I have ever used. The cost is no more than any other oil since you only change it every 12K. If anybody needs any, PM me for a great deal. My dad's a RP distributor and always hooks people I send his way up.
