I'm at witz end on this... About 3 months back I hada slow leak in my coolant system. After running it low, I decided to drain, replace the thermostat, and flush. Not but a couple weeks later took her into the mountains and I sprong a major heater core leak (it was really cold). Took her into the dealer (I don't have THAT much time on my hands....) and got it replaced. After that the temp. began running higher (about 3/4) with AC on a warm afternoon. Taking it up in the mountains I have to turn the heat on to keep it out of the red. Took it back to the dealer, had the system pressure tested, No problems. Tech said it was the thermostat. Replaced it again with a stant 195, but no change in how its working. Anyone have any ideas???. I'm lost and would like to avoid more time at the dealer...

Did you bleed your cooling system?
Usually there is a bleeder plug on one of the heads.

If you have air trapped in your system then it will not cool properly.

Perform a RAD Flush, would be my first thing. Make sure that you have your heater on when youhave the flush agent in.

Have you checked you radiator for debris? This weekend I took my grill off and was surprised to find how much gabage was blocking my rad. I wound up taking my tranny cooler off as well in order to clean it properly.

After checking the that the radiator is not plugged up, I would hookup a mechanical gauge. Test to see if u are actually running high temps. My toyota pickup needle would rise higher more so when I would run down the highway. The mechanical gauge moved like 5 degrees. Do you have any other symptoms of running hot?
