I've heard of that theory before... but even if it did, in fact, run on the vapors alone, it was undoubtedly running as lean as humanly possible... and would never even come close to meeting today's emissions standards. (Not to mention what an extremely lean burn can do to the internals of an engine...)

Speaking of which, that engine is entirely different from todays motors. Waaay more castings, lots more metal to absorb the heat... 1970s technology. May as well have been driving it on the moon...
