I have a 2000 X. I couldn't find anywhere to run wiring through the firewall. No empty gromments or anything. I didn't rip up the gray I guess damping material that's on the lower part of the firewall through. Also looking at it from the the engine compartment it didn't look like many options either. Any suggestions?

You couldn't make your own hole and put a gromment through that?

i ran my own wires when i set up my audio system and if you look in the middle of where the carpet ends on the drivers side right up by the firewall there is a circular rubber piece (there is on my 97, not sure about your 2000) but anyway you can pull that out and then run wires through that and then just kinda stuff the circular piece back in.. it will stay mine has had no problems.. i do believe you have to move the carpet back to get to it though.. but as i said im not sure if the 2k is set up like mine so you may not have that piece

good luck

Thanks gensic. I'll poke around some more. I may have to drill my own hole and run them through that.

That's exactly what I did too... but mine didn't just come out. I had to pound it out with a hammer and then drill the hole a little bigger to get my wire through it. Works good though.

no problem...im surprised you have to drill your own hole.. mine had enough space but i guess the 98 and up is a little different.. its a good spot to run the wires though.. good luck and let me know how it turns out..
