I was wondering how all of you ran your wires through that cylinder thing on the drivers door. I haven't really looked at it closely but it looks like a pain in the ass. I'm getting two sets of components for christmas so I don't feel like fooling around. Its like 30 degrees out around here. Thanks in advance, Steve

It is. You just gotta mess around with it until it works

I used the stock wires to power the 5 1/4 woofers. You don't new wire unless you are running a ton of power to them.

Good luck.....

What size wire are you going to run and for what? If its the power cable from your battery to an amp I ran mine through a rubber gromet that was on the fire wall by the steering colom. I have ran them through door jams and it is alot more work then running it through the rubber gromet.

I'm running either 14 or 16 gauge wires to (2) 6 1/2 component sets. Im gonna be running around 60 rms to each channel. I only have to run one wire through each door because I'm gonna mount the tweeters on the A+B pillars.

I've got a thread going on this same subject: Dead Link Removed

Will there be a noticable difference in SQ, when using the stock wiring instead of new 14-16 gauge wiring?

You only need to use bigger wire when you run lots of power. I know people who use stock wire with over 100w output.

You will hear no difference.

Good luck.....

I plan on pushing 80-100 watts to each door. Out of curiosity does anybody know how many watts the factory Premium sound systems is pushing to the speakers?
