Hey I saw this thing on the explorer procomp website. It was a tow hook/d-ring type thing for YJ jeeps that have their coil conversion lift on it. It goes right in the shackle hanger up front. I was thinking maybe I could make a hanger type thing and put a d-ring in there?? Would it be safe to weld that hanger to the front of the frame?? I know I could just put a big ring in the holes in the frame but it wouldn't look as good, plus I want to do something like that, just to say I did it, ya know? Tell me what ya think (or better yet, what you know) Thanks

If it was up to me I would not weld anything to my frame. I always bolt my stuff to the frame. I think the frame may be heat treated (correct me if I am wrong) and welding the frame would take away the strength. If you do decide to weld to the frame disconnect both battery cables and place the ground of the welder as close to where you are welding as you can so you don't mess up any of the electrical parts.
