The Exploder is getting to the point where it needs new ball joints all the way around, new tierod ends, new hubs and I might have over heated the bearings in the axle housing. I am in grad school so I do have a limited budget and do some light wheeling but nothing to major. I am thinking it might be time for a SAS with my SUV. I am looking at getting a d30 from a TJ so that I don't have to deal with the vaccum stuff. For being on a budget not off roading to hard core I figured I see what others thought about my choice about looking into a d30

Fix what you have.

X2, with what you have you can make the Ex pretty capable without doing a SAS. I would really only do a SAS if it is a spare truck or close to it. The ware and tare alone is not feasible in the sub $3 a gallon world.

for an SAS, even if you do the fab work and welding yourself, it will still be WAY cheaper to fix what you have.

oh yeah, I wouldn't think it would be cheap for a SAS after reading through all of the second gen swaps. I just like the added height and look. Maybe I will just go ahead and replace that stuff and you're right about expensive gas
