2007 Eddie Bauer
Hi, I'm new to the site and just wanted to introduce myself, bigvinnieNJ. I own a 2007 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition. I brought my vehicle in for the recall of the Gear Shift button repair. They did a Complimentary 30 point check and found the right outer tie rod end with excessive play. They said that the repair with wheel alignment would cost $245. I find it unusual for the tie rod end to fail at 30,000 miles. Comments please. Thank You:p:

Welcome to this forum! A wheel alignment specialist knows if a tie rod end is bad, but the price seems very high, so use caution. Have them show it to you to prove that it's really bad. You could replace the tie rods yourself, and have them do the alignment.

Thanks, I'm bringing the truck in today to my mechanic to have them check it out.

welcome to the site.I'd get a second opinion too.

Thanks, I just got it repaired. They got the part from the dealer because he said that the threads were different on other than non Ford parts. Pleased with the repair & alignment.
