My nice plastic ice scraper broke the other day as I was trying to get rid of about 1/8" of ice from my passenger windows. In all my intelligence, I grabbed a piece of aluminum that just conveniently seemed to be in the back of my Explorer. Now the passenger windows have evil little silver scratches on them. The auto glass place said they may be able to polish them out...otherwise about $2000 to replace the glass on two doors and a rear side window. Is there anything I can do to "polish" the glass? Or just leave it the pro and hope for the best?

i have heard using toothpaste will do it.... its mildly abrasive and can polish.....

you might want to try looking in the detailing forum with a search, im sure this has been discussed there

Great! I'll give both a shot. Thanks for the info!

$2,000 sounds WAY high.
Make a few more calls.

Hey

Eastwood has a kit which looks like it has a pretty aggrressive cut for under 100.00 bucks . Just go to www.eastwood.com and do a search for window polishing. should come up.
