Having trouble removing some trail pin stripes. My truck is black and only a few show some white. All the others just seems to be in the clear coat. I have used black polish and then Meguire's over that, but they just keep coming back. It looks good for about a week and then after one wash it looks like it's never been polished. I am thinking this Meguire's sucks!

Anyway, nobody around here has heard of Zaino, nor do I know what is the correct procedure to get these out. They run the length of the truck. I thought of using rubbing compound, but I don't want to make it worse or leave swirls.

Anyone have some tips?

2001exsport,

You can only get zaino at www.zainobros.com. Check out a recent thread called "zaino products". You will learn about it and that it is well worth it!!

You would need the scratch/swirl remover which costs $16.95 but will do 4-6 coats depending how much you put on. I did 5 coats on my entire vehicle with one bottle!

Sctraches are gone!!

If you still have questions just ask...I will help you!

Check out "MeExplorerPics" for the shine that Zaino has on my truck.

Zaino is great but if you can feel a scratch you probably cant remove it. Run your thumbnail over it and if you can feel it, its time for the body shop.

I only have two of those and I know theres nothing I can do about that.

The others I can't feel but can see them.

You're gonna need a buffer and some good polishing compound. The general rule is to start with the least abrasive product first, then if that doesn't work, move to a more abrasive product, and so on. I highly recommend 3M's line of pro automotive products. I'd start with their new Perfect-It III machine polish. This is abrasive enough to take out most clearcoat scratches without removing the clearcoat in the process. If you find that it doesn't take care of the problem, try some 3M Finesse-It II polish. This is more abrasive than the Perfect-It product. Finesse-It needs to be followed up by Perfect-It to remove the haze that is left by it, but it will take care of almost any scratch that doesn't need to be wet-sanded. Then you follow up with tons of Zaino :).

Hey great, thanks a lot Mike.

I just ordered some I hope it works.

What did you order? The 3M or the Zaino?

peace

Mike

I'm guessing the Zaino. Most 3m products can be found on a shelf somewhere. Zaino is order only.
