Hi everyone, I got a SCT programmer yesterday and it said ecu not supported. I talked to the dealer that I got it from and he said I need to update it. I tried when I got home but it was up to date so I called SCT tech and they said the vehicle code is for an 07 mountaineer 4.0 but I have an 06 X 4.0. How is this possible? I had to get the engine replaiced awhile back and they had to reprogram it, so I called the ford dealership that did the work and they said they didn't replace it. SCT said I have to go to a SCT custom tuner dealer which is 50 mi away and got to caugh up more money. Can someone please help??

vehicle code that SCT programmer gave is PWFG0A7 if that helps.

thanx

Your PCM was updated to the latest calibration at the dealer. To find out what your calibration is, plug in the tuner and go under the vehicle settings. Select the 'get strategy' option and it will display a bunch of letters. Write down these letters and give them to SCT or your custom dealer and they can give you the proper tune for your PCM.

THe same happened to me. Took my truck in for the tranny bump and they updated the PCM. My SCT was useless. I contacted Henson Performance and they had a new tune for me in a few days.

Thanks guys. I talked to someone different at SCT and they are talking to their engineering department and will get back to me. I just don't want to spend another 100 bucks to get my 400 dollar programmer to work.

Thank you for your help. SCT does not support my tune they told me to call troyer performance, so I did and they told me they have noghthing on that tune and they have to dyno it well they 300 miles away. I found a local sct tuner with a dyno so I going to try them out but they not a certified sct tuner but at this point sct means nothing to me they need to get their sh*+ right

Both mike troyer and hensen performance know their stuff. I've delt with both of them and always been satisfied.

Mike Troyer wrote the tune for my F-150. Awesome. The man knows his stuff.

From talking to Mike Troyer it sounds like he does know his stuff. But they have no files on my strategy so I have to go to him for dyno runs, I am fine with that but he is 300 miles away that is just not feasible. There is a local dyno tuner closer to me that I am going to try they not a sct certified tuner but as of now sct certified means nothing to me. How can a company make a programmer for an 06 explorer or any vehicle and not support upgraded flashes.
