I have a 95 Eddie Bauer Explorer and love it (359,000+) Replacing the leather upholstery is very expensive so I am thinking aboiut replacing the front seats with seats from a newer model that might be parting out. How can I find out which Ford seats would be compatible with what I have now? Besides the bolting pattern and harnes what else should I be looking for?
thanks

If I'm not mistaken, 95-01 should work as long as they're the correct power seat options. They have to be Eddie Bauer though. I got one that wasn't. Instead of vinyl on the siding panel, it is hairy crap, but it looks alright.

Thanks very much I frequently see eddie bauers that are being parted out. If I can get an 01 that should look pretty good. My seat is sort of a grey color and it lasted a long time but I now have rips on it

The 95-97 1/2 Explorer had a chrome seat belt receiver, and the late 97-01 Explorer had plastic covered ones, you will need the chrome one, which is easily swappable to any Seat coming out of an Explorer. The Electronics should be the same, if you are looking for higher end seat, If you find one that has heated seat, there is a thread on here showing you how to hook them up. ALSO keep in mind if you have a Tan interior, that the Early Eddie Bauers had Light Saddle Leather Interior, and the later ones just had a basic tan color, that is lighter, so if you go for a later seat, which I suggest, it will be a little bit lighter then the rest of your interior.

funny you should mention tan my wife says my seat is ton but my son and I believe it is grey. At this point anything close to the grey they had in 1995 would be great. I stay amazed at how well this car has held up. thanks for all the help
